I have had to use Dual Sense on PC with all sorts of workarounds and fiddling with using DS4Windows and hiding it so it doesn’t show it as two controller profiles.īut this controller does not work well if you use a combination of using the non-Steam Retroarch software and play Steam games. When you are using Dualsense controller to emulate Xbox 360 controller, what methods you are using to hide the original controller device detected by Windows (because windows would have detected 2 controllers). I'm also perhaps incorrect with this line of thought, but I would think that it's always preferable to have the game/program read your controller natively then "tricking" it with DS4Windows. I really prefer not having to create a profile for every single thing I'm running. So if anyone has some decent knowledge with DS4Windows, I would love their help to get this working properly. This isn't what I want, I want to be able to bounce between using the controller natively and using DS4Windows automatically. I keep running into problems where the "temporarily shut off DS4Windows" method will shut the controller off completely, lights and all, and I can't reconnect unless I turn DS4Windows back on. The short version is, I haven't found the easiest way to have DS4Windows turn on/use a specific profile when launching a specific program, and then temporarily turn off when I'm running a program that uses the PS5 controller natively. In Steam's case, there's this whole workaround you have to do in order to pull that off, and yet that same workaround doesn't seem to work with other programs. Ideally, I would want DS4Windows to automatically shut off when I'm running something that supports the PS5 controller natively, like Steam. At least for me, the biggest issue is getting the program to seamlessly switch on and off on its own, or load up the right profile in-between programs. But as is the case with nearly every PC-related thing out there, DS4Windows is a pain in the ass to set up.
